Engineering and Design

Modeling

Prefabricated Houses use powerful modeling software to create precise 3D designs, architectural concepts, professional animated 3D presentations and accurate working drawings that can be used for steel frame detailing and manufacture.

With simultaneous 2D and 3D capability, designing is much faster than traditional design packages. It also incorporates an automated bill of materials and estimating facility for quick and accurate costing of design jobs.

Designing

Design software produces CAD designs for cold-formed steel framing construction under multiple load combinations, complete with engineering calculations and structural analysis. We can design and engineer cold-formed steel wall framing, Trusses and Sub-floors as well as Steel roofs, Cladding and Flashings.

Some of the Design codes available are American, British and New Zealander.
This advanced capability means material usage can be optimized to reduce engineering and construction costs and minimize the risk of design or construction hold-ups.


Detailing

Using the detailer program, detailing, quoting and manufacturing processes are seamlessly integrated together with critical information to help us comply with local building codes, standards and practices in different regions.
The dimensions and type of frame required (including opening sizes) will be entered, and the Detailer will convert the information into detailed framing plans that can be transferred directly to the manufacturing machines.

Independent wall lining system.

 IWL independent wall lining is a lightweight, non-load bearing system, which is built independently of the external wall construction. The system is used in all types of building, but is particularly suitable for those with reinforced concrete or steel frames. The lining provides fire resistance to structural steel sections clad with lightweight metal sheeting, and can also be used in association with new or existing masonry walls to increase sound insulation and meet thermal performance requirements.

Why light steel?

Steel has a long record of use in construction due to its strength, durability and economy. Cold-formed and galvanized light-gauge steel framing (LGSF) brings those attributes plus many more.

Economy: Cold formed light-gauge galvanized steel frame has been less expensive than competing forms of construction.

Design Versatility : The designer has extensive choices of finishes to achieve the desired aesthetics for the project.

Lightweight Construction: High Strength-to-Weight ratio and, therefore, are lighter than wood or masonry of comparable size. This means less building mass. This has a positive impact on the building's seismic resistance, it may allow economical spread footing foundations and it may also allow upward expansion in a building originally not designed for an extra floor. In curtain wall construction, where weight affects the proportioning of spandrels, columns and footings compare the weight of steel construction with masonry backup and precast concrete.

Ease of Assembly : Light steel frames are easily handled in the shop and field. Sections can be moved and lifted by hand or by low capacity mechanical lifts, possibly allowing smaller and less expensive job site hoisting equipment.

Panelization : Wall, floor and roof panels can be easily and quickly assembled in a factory-type setting or on site.

Faster Construction: Weather is not an issue with Zamil Prefabricated Houses and so the construction season can be extended into the full year and achieve more timely tenant/owner occupancy.

Non-Combustibility & Fire Resistant: Steel is a non-combustible material and will not add fuel to a building fire. As such, Prefabricated Houses are permitted in a greater number of occupancies with less floor area restrictions and sprinkler system requirements compared to combustible construction.

Durable: With its high strength and protective coatings, Prefabricated Houses is impressively durable. Standard coatings on Prefabricated Houses in properly constructed, environmentally controlled buildings will perform over one hundred years and more.
